At Hope Lutheran School, our goal is to glorify God by assisting the Christian family in the discipleship, education, and nurture of its children and to ensure the success of each student who is enrolled. Our partnership with parents and each student’s success begins with the admission process.

The admissions process is designed to ensure a student’s readiness and potential for having a successful and rewarding experience at Hope Lutheran School. The admissions process is also designed to confirm compatibility in Christian values, philosophy, and essential beliefs between parents and the school so that a strong partnership is forged between the Christian home and the school.

Financial Aid:
A student must be accepted for admission before applying for financial aid. Please contact the school office for information regarding financial aid and other financial matters.

Pre-Kindergarten (ages 3, 4 and 5):
Children who are 3 to 5 years old and are completely potty trained are eligible to enroll. Admission to and placement in Hope Lutheran’s preschool program is at the discretion of the school’s administration.

Early and Middle Elementary Years (ages 5-12):
Your child is eligible to enroll, provided there is space, at 5 years old. Students will be selected through a process that includes a placement assessment by our faculty, application review, and a successful parent/guardian interview. Admission to and placement in Hope Lutheran School is at the sole discretion of the school’s administration.

Priority Enrollment:
Your enrollment is designated as priority if:

1. You are re-enrolling, are current on all bills and apply within priority registration timeframes;



2. You are a sibling of a student of Hope Lutheran School;



3. You are an active member of a Partner Congregation of the Hope Lutheran School Association. The Partners for 2004-2005 school year are: Christ’s Lutheran – Stanley, Holy Communion Lutheran – Dallas, Holy Trinity Lutheran – Gastonia, Our Saviour Lutheran – Dallas, Philadelphia Lutheran – Dallas, Redeemer Lutheran – Gastonia, Resurrection Lutheran – Kings Mountain, and St. Matthews Lutheran – Kings Mountain.



4. Priority enrollment is a privilege and is forfeited if registration guidelines are not met.

Admissions Open House:
You are cordially invited to visit the school. The School periodically sponsors Admissions Open Houses. Please call the School office for details and to confirm the dates.

School Tours:
In addition to the school’s Open Houses, parents/guardians are welcome to schedule a private school tour and to visit our classrooms on an individual basis.

Application Procedure:
** The Admissions process begins with the submission of a completed Application for Enrollment, along with a non-refundable application fee of $100.

Application Dates	Priority and Open Registrations
February 9 - 16 Priority Registrations	Registration of re-enrollees, siblings of current Hope Students, children and/or grandchildren of Hope Lutheran School Association members.
March 16	Open Registration – All non-Lutheran applications

** Student’s records and teacher recommendations are received from previous school or preschool.
** Placement assessments are conducted.
** Parent/Guardian interviews are scheduled and conducted.

Notification:
Parents/Guardians will be notified by mail regarding the receipt of the application. In this notification, they will receive pertinent information regarding the dates and times for the remainder of the application process.

Upon completion of the Admissions Process, the Parents/Guardians will be notified by mail of their child’s acceptance status and placement.

Financial Aid:
There is a limited amount of financial aid available through Hope Lutheran School. Upon acceptance, you may apply for financial aid by calling the school office and requesting the Financial Aid Form.
